What training is necessary to become an attorney?
A:
After attending a four year university and obtaining your bachelor’s degree you must take the law school admissions test (the LSAT). Once you have been accepted into law school you will most likely spend three years in law school preparing you for a final exam. Each state requires that law students take an exam in order to practice law in that state. This exam is called the bar exam. Law school prepares students for the exam to an extent but it is highly recommended that you study independently for the exam and join a bar exam preparatory class to ensure you pass. The last step is to take a “character” exam to ensure that you are fit to be an ethical lawyer.
